Does it really block all the light?

Yes. The honeycomb fabric runs inside a track on both sides and the bottom rail seals against the sill, so there is no edge for light to come around. That is the difference between Blackout 01 and a "blackout" curtain, which leaks at the sides and the top.

How long does installation take?

Under five minutes, and our slowest recorded install is 4:12. Hold the frame against the window and press until the tension pads grip, then pull the slider down. That is the whole job.

Do I need to drill?

No. Blackout 01 is held by tension pads inside the window reveal. No screws, no brackets, no adhesive and no dust. It leaves no marks, so it works in a rented flat and you can take it with you when you move.

How do I measure my window?

Measure the inside of the window reveal — width and height — and enter those numbers on the product page. Our measuring guide walks through it with photos, including where to measure and how to check the recess depth.

What if I measure wrong?

We remake the blind for your window free of charge. That is the Blackout Fit Promise: email post@ludviken.com within 100 nights of delivery and we sort it out. You are not stuck with a blind that does not fit.

What is it made of?

A double-cell honeycomb fabric with an aluminium layer inside, running in a 33 mm powder-coated aluminium side track. The frame comes in black or white.

Does it help with heat and noise?

Yes. The honeycomb traps two layers of air between you and the glass, which cuts about 20% of the heat coming through the window and takes around 20 dB off street noise.

Is it safe around children and pets?

Yes. There is no cord and no chain. You pull it down with one hand and it latches; push it up and it stacks. There is nothing hanging for a child or a cat to get into.

How long until it arrives?

Each blind is cut to your measurements, so it is made to order. Production and dispatch take about 10 days, and you get tracking by email as soon as it ships. See our Shipping Policy for transit times.

How much is shipping?

Free, on every order, with no minimum.

What is your return policy?

You get 100 nights to decide. If it is not right, send it back for a full refund — free of charge within the US. Details are in our Refund Policy.

Is there a warranty?

Two years on the frame, track and slider, from the day it is delivered.

What about odd-shaped or very large windows?

Send us a photo of the window at post@ludviken.com and we will tell you whether we can build for it before you order.

How do I clean it?

Dust it with a soft brush or vacuum on the lowest setting. Spot clean marks with a barely damp cloth and let it dry fully open. Do not soak the fabric.
